Our Story

It All Started Here

According to Relief Web International, one of the United Nations OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) Services:

  •  The number of kids living in conflict areas has been boosting since 2000.
  • In 2019, 1.6 billion kids (69%) were residing in a conflict-affected country.
  • About 426 million kids (over one in six) were staying in a problem area in 2019. This makes up a 2% boost from 2018.

In 2019, Africa was the globe area with the highest number of youngsters residing in dispute zones (179 million), while the Center East had the greatest share of youngsters staying in problem zones (40%).

In 2019, greater than 71 million 0– 5-year-olds were staying in locations that had seen dispute their entire lifetime.

While armed conflicts and situations influence people of any ages, kids are specifically prone to the results of war. In 2019, nearly 2 thirds of the globe’s youngsters were living in a conflict-ridden country. Approximately 426 million youngsters– over one in six– were living less than 50 km from where the actual battling occurred. In spite of enhanced population data, we still need extra methodical understanding on just how these kids are both directly as well as indirectly influenced by armed dispute, such as through murder and maiming, youngster soldier recruitment, sex-related exploitation, denial of humanitarian accessibility, and poor wellness problems.

We read these numbers and these numbers do not include the number of children in Africa we really need immediate help and attention due to reasons other than war conflicts. For example according to worldvision.org:

“In the whole of Africa, 250 million people were experiencing hunger, which is nearly 20% of the population. Conditions are deteriorating across East Africa, where 7 million people are at risk of starvation and another 33.8 million faces acute food insecurity. At least 12.8 million children are acutely malnourished in the region.”

According to just those numbers mentioned, no matter how many charity organizations are out there to help those children in need it is still difficult but not impossible to cover them all. From here we decided to start Kukua Organization and do our part in relieving even if it is a small percentage but in the end, we are saving a child.

Our Vision

Have you ever stood in front of the fridge full of food and yelled “mom, there is nothing to eat “ ?
Now imagine no fridge, no food and no mom.

We can’t replace moms. But we can definitely help provide food, shelter, education so that the helpless become empowered and in turn help those in need.

My goal is to connect those who are blessed differently with those who are differently-abled.

Together we can and we shall make a change, 1 person, 1 child, 1 smile at a time.

“We envision a society in which all Canadians are committed to giving and participating in the charitable sector, and in which all charities, regardless of size, have the capacity to increase their impact.”
